Mailchimp Integration

Overview
With the Mailchimp integration, you will be able to send emails of your giveaway participants directly to the Mailchimp list.
Before you start
- To connect Mailchimp integrations, you must have an active Mailchimp account.
- In Mailchimp, you must generate and copy the API Key to grant access to your Mailchimp account. Learn how to generate the API Key here.
- In Mailchimp, you have to create the list and copy its list/audience ID. You can also use the ID of an existing list. If you don't know how to find it you can read this article.
- In the Socialman giveaway, you must use the Sign up for a newsletter action. Only users who completed this action will be sent to the Mailchimp list via the integration.
Connect and configure
To integrate a giveaway with the Mailchimp mailing list follow these steps:
- Log in to the dashboard, and click the Integrations tab.
- Find the giveaway you want to integrate and click the Integrations icon.
- Find Mailchimp under the Add integrations and click the Add icon on the right side.
- Paste your API key and ID of the list/audience to send emails to. Save the form.
The integration is automatic. The email address of the person who completed the action will appear on the Mailchimp audience list within a few minutes. If there were any emails in the giveaway recorded prior to configuring the integration they will be sent as well.
Deactivate integration
To stop sending data from a giveaway to the Mailchimp mailing list, simply delete the active integration with the following steps:
- Log in to the dashboard, and click the Integrations tab.
- Find the giveaway you want to disconnect, and click the Integrations icon.
- Next, find your Mailchimp integration under the Active integrations and click the Delete icon on the right side.
Testing
You can test the integration by participating in the giveaway and completing the Sign up for a newsletter action. Your email address should appear in the Mailchimp list within a few minutes.
