Zapier Integration

Overview

Zapier integration lets you automatically send giveaway participants’ data (such as email addresses, names, and custom fields) to thousands of apps via Zapier. By using Zapier’s Webhooks, you can connect your giveaway connect your giveaway to over 6,000+ apps including Google Sheets, Slack, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce, Trello, Asana, and many other.

Before you start

• Make sure you have an active Zapier account in order to use Zapier integrations.
• In Zapier, you must set up a Catch Hook URL (Webhook) that will receive the participant data. Find out how to create a webhook in Zapier’s Webhooks documentation
• Optionally, you can use an API Key if your Zap requires additional authentication.
• It is compulsory to use the Sign up for a newsletter action in the Socialman giveaway. Because without completing this action, the participant emails will not be sent to Zapier.

Connect and configure

To connect and configure your Zapier integration with the giveaway, follow the steps below:

1. Log in to the dashboard, and click the Integrations tab.
2. Look for the giveaway you are targeting to configure and click the Integrations icon.
3. Look for Zapier in the Add integrations section. Afterward, click the Add icon on the right side.
4. In the form, paste your Zapier Webhook URL in the field provided. Optionally, If your Zap requires authentication, paste your API Key. Save the form.

After the configuration process is completed, the email address (and other participant details) of anyone who completes the Sign up for a newsletter action will be automatically sent to your Zapier Webhook. From there, Zapier will forward the data to your chosen app (e.g., Google Sheets → add row, Slack → send message, Mailchimp → subscribe contact).

Deactivate integration

You can disconnect the giveaway from Zapier by following the steps below:

1. Log in to the dashboard, and click the Integrations tab.
2. Look for the giveaway you want to disconnect and click the Integrations icon.
3. Look for Zapier under the Active integrations and click the Delete icon on the right side.

Testing

For testing the integration:

• In Zapier, set up a Zap with Webhooks by Zapier > Catch Hook as the Trigger.
• Copy the webhook URL into the integration form.
• Participate in your giveaway by completing the Sign up for a newsletter action.
• After a few minutes, your email address and other participant data will appear in your connected app (e.g., a new row in Google Sheets).
